First, let me say how much I appreciate the readers of Forces With History who have hung in here in spite of a major gap in postings. Many of you will know that we launched THE FORGOTTEN: A NOVEL OF THE KOREAN WAR on October 12th. Here is a photo of what was a very exciting occasion.
(In spite of the evidence, I can assure you that neither Patricia nor I had nodded off!)
The large image in the centre is a print of war artist Ted Zuber’s “Freeze,” which is the source for THE FORGOTTEN’s cover.
What I didn’t know at the time was that we were both about to be diagnosed with Covid. We’re fine now, although I had a couple of bad weeks and some complications—all now dealt with—that resulted in the gap in Forces With History items from October 8th until today.
So in addition to you subscribers who have hung in, let me officially welcome a number of new readers. For those that would like to read some previous editions, you can access them by going to my website, www.robertwmackay.ca, and clicking on NEWSLETTER.
I’m very happy to say that I’m back in action, and looking forward to returning to my usual Forces With History format, where I publish short pieces about our military history.
And here is a very exciting review of THE FORGOTTEN: A NOVEL OF THE KOREAN WAR in the BC Book Review: Theo Dombrowski reviews The Forgotten: A Novel of the Korean War, by Robert Mackay. Please feel free to pass it on!
beastly covid! glad you're better!
Thanks for the like!
